Sasa Zivanovic

Sasa Zivanovic has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Sasa currently holds the position of Vice President at the Security Management Institute, where they play a crucial role in enhancing the level of security in business environments through the development of security methods and techniques, education, and knowledge exchange.

Prior to this, Sasa worked as the Head of the Service for controlling the operation of gas stations and warehouses at NIS Gazprom Neft, a prominent energy company. Sasa took charge of managing and overseeing the smooth operation of gas stations and warehouses within the organization.

Sasa also served as an Assistant Professor at The Academy of Criminalistic and Police Studies, specializing in criminal-police and security skills. During this time, they taught various subjects that included IT systems and police IT, contributing to the education and development of students.

In addition, Sasa held several significant positions within the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia. As the Head of the Cyber Crime Department, they played a pivotal role in ensuring security protection against cybercrime. Sasa made complex decisions, managed and supervised the department, and applied effective methodologies to combat cybercrime. Before this, they worked as the Chief of Sector for crime in the banking sector and forgery at the Ministry of Interior.

Sasa's extensive career also includes serving as a Senior Police Inspector for financial crimes and as a Professor of Computer Science and Informatics in a high school. Furthermore, they held the role of Technical Director at the Institute for specialized rehabilitation "Banj Istok" and worked as an IT Specialist at Velprom Company.

Overall, with their vast experience in security management, law enforcement, education, and technical expertise, Sasa Zivanovic has made significant contributions in their various professional roles.

Sasa Zivanovic attended University Tuzla, Faculty of Technology from 1983 to 1988, earning a degree in Bussines (dipl.ing. tehn.). In addition to their formal education, Sasa Zivanovic obtained several certifications, including FISMA, NIST and the Risk Management Framework from Cybrary in June 2016, National capacities and needs regarding cybercrime, targeting crime proceeds and prevention of money laundering on the Internet from the Council of Europe in June 2016, and CORPORATE CYBERSECURITY MANAGEMENT from Cybrary in March 2016. They also obtained various other certifications related to cybercrime investigation, risk management, and fraud prevention from institutions such as the U.S. Department of Justice, INTERPOL, and Mastercard, among others.
