Rasool Porhemmat is a hydrologist currently employed at NIWA since 2021, specializing in hydrology and hydrometeorology of alpine catchments as part of ongoing PhD research at the University of Canterbury. Previously, Rasool served as a PhD candidate at the University of Canterbury from 2016 to 2020, and as a field hydrologist at the Soil Conservation and Watershed Management Research Institute from 2013 to 2016. Additional experience includes working as an IT Support Technician in the GIS and Remote Sensing Lab at Shahid Beheshti University from April 2011 to June 2012. Rasool holds a Master’s degree in Hydrogeology and a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, both from Shahid Beheshti University, graduating with first class honors.
