David Liss has extensive work experience in various leadership roles, particularly in the field of technology and education. David is currently serving as the Treasurer on the Executive Board of Directors at the Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce since January 2019. Previously, they held the position of Executive Director of Technology and Strategic Planning at Nixa Public Schools starting from July 2006. In addition, they were a Member and Past President (2014-2015) at the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) since 2013. David also served as the President of the Technology Board at RCET-SW, a consortium of schools focused on technology integration from 2001 to 2016. Prior to that, they worked as a Coordinator of User Support at Missouri State University for over a decade. David has also contributed as Adjunct Faculty and Assistant Director of Computer Services at Drury University. David's career began in 1985 in the United States Marine Corps, where they served as a Mainframe Computer Operator, Personal Computer Instructor, and Platoon Leader until July 1992.
David Liss received their Bachelor of Science degree in Finance/Real Estate with a minor in Music from Missouri State University, where they studied from 1985 to 1991. Additionally, they obtained certifications including Executive Coach Certification and Professional Certified Coach (PCC) from the Professional Coach Academy in August 2023. In March 2013, David obtained the Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) certification from the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN). David also holds certifications as an A+ Certified Professional from CompTIA, obtained in March 2003, and as a Novell CNA Certification from Novell, received in October 1994.
