Timothy Purnell, EdD, serves as the Executive Director and CEO at the New Jersey School Boards Association since July 2022. Concurrently, Timothy engages with YPO/WPO Canada as the Atlantic 13 Regional Area Officer and previously held various leadership roles including Chapter Chair and Membership Officer. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education Leadership at Montclair State University since September 2002, Timothy has gained recognition as the highest-rated professor nationally and has designed curricula for mental health courses. Timothy co-founded and is the CEO of It's Anonymous™, an AI-driven crowdsourcing tool. Previous leadership roles include CEO of Purnell Group LLC and the American Montessori Society, as well as interim positions with NEXT for AUTISM and Montclair's Human Resources. Timothy holds an Ed.D. in K-12 Administration from Seton Hall University and advanced degrees in Administration, Supervision, and Biology.

New Jersey School Boards Association
Established in 1914, the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) is a federation of all of the state's local boards of education. The 4,800 local board members who comprise our membership are the largest group of elected and appointed public officials in New Jersey. The Association provides training and technical assistance to these members, all of whom serve without compensation. In addition, the Association advocates the education, health, and safety interests of New Jersey's public school students and school districts. Local board of education members are the Association's core member group. However, NJSBA extends the privilege of associate membership to individuals and organizations whose work or interests address the concerns and mission of the Association.
