Mira Tohme

Analytical Development, Translational Research at Nkarta

Mira Tohme has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Mira began their career at Institut Curie - Research Centre in 2009 as a PhD student. In this role, they focused on studying the role of chaperone proteins in Toll-Like Receptor 7 (TLR7) and 9 (TLR9) signaling and trafficking in B cells. Mira conducted experiments using proximity ligation assay staining and confocal microscopy imaging to demonstrate the binding and trafficking of TLR7 with the chaperone protein. Additionally, they determined that Invariant chain deficiency affects TLR7-dependent innate responses in B cells.

After working at Institut Curie, Mira joined Boston Children's Hospital in 2014 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Mira'smain project involved studying DOCK8 expression in T cells and its impact on T cell-dependent antibody responses. Mira utilized a conditional knock-out mice model to investigate the function of DOCK8 in T cells. Mira conducted various experiments including flow cytometry, ELISA, q-RT PCRs, Immunohistochemistry, and cell cultures.

Most recently, Mira has been working at Nkarta Therapeutics, Inc since 2017. Mira'srole at the company is focused on Analytical Development and Translational Research. Unfortunately, specific details about the responsibilities and projects they have undertaken in this role are not provided.

Mira Tohme's education history began in 2004 when they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry at the Lebanese University - Faculty of Sciences, which they successfully completed in 2008. Following this, they attended Pierre and Marie Curie University from 2008 to 2009 to earn a Master's degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology. Subsequently, Mira joined Université Paris Cité for their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) studies in Cell Biology and Immunology, which they completed in 2013.
