Michael James Faulkner has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Starting in 2001, they worked at Asda as a Customer Service Operations Specialist until 2004. From 2004 to 2006, they were a Cast Member at The Walt Disney Studios. Michael James then joined The Walt Disney Company as a Cast Member and Team Leader from 2006 to 2007. In 2005, they briefly worked as an Academic Mentor at Goldsmiths, University of London. From 2007 to 2009, Michael worked in Airport Operations & Cabin Services at Virgin Atlantic Airways. Michael James then transitioned into the role of Senior Consultant in OD/L&D from 2009 to 2012, followed by being a Senior Consultant in Global L&D from 2012 to 2014 at the same company. Since 2014, they have been at NKD, starting as a Consultant before progressing to Director, then Consulting Director. Michael James subsequently held the position of Director of Customer Experience before becoming the Managing Director. In September 2022, they were appointed as the Chief Executive Officer at NKD. Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated expertise in strategic consulting, leadership development, and customer experience.

Michael James Faulkner has a diverse education history, with a focus on psychology, learning and development, and business administration. In 2006, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business, Psychology, and ATPL Pilot Training Pathway from the University of London. Michael James further pursued their education and received a Certificate in Learning and Development Practice from CIPD in 2012-2013, specializing in Organizational Development and People Development. In 2013, they earned a Certificate in the Psychology of Adult Learning from Birkbeck, University of London.

Michael's educational journey continued with a Master of Science (MSc) in Occupational Psychology from Birkbeck, University of London, which they completed in 2016-2017. During the same year, they also completed a coaching program at The Coaching School. Additionally, they obtained certifications as a Certified Practitioner of FIRO-B and MBTI Step I and Step II from CPP, Inc. New York in April 2015. In 2019-2020, they attended Stanford University, where they engaged in a Mini-MBA program focusing on Business Administration and Management, General. In 2015, they further developed their knowledge in adult learning by completing an Advanced adult learning program at Birkbeck, University of London.

Apart from their academic achievements, Michael has obtained additional certifications. Michael James is a Certified Practitioner of FIRO-B and MBTI Step I & Step II from CPP, Inc. New York, which they earned in April 2015. Michael James also holds a Certificate in Learning & Development Practice from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD), obtained in January 2013. Furthermore, they acquired certifications in Immediate Life Support from the Resuscitation Council in October 2012 and in Crew Resource Management from the Civil Aviation Authority in June 2009.
