Paul Cartmel has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Paul started their career as a Software Developer at Booz Allen Hamilton in 1999. Paul then worked as a Senior Developer at IMG in 2000, where they gained experience in managing large web content sites. In 2001, they joined Delos as a Senior Architect and stayed until 2003. Paul then moved to Microgen, where they worked as a Senior Architect from 2003 to 2005.
In 2005, Paul co-founded Silverminute and served as the CTO until 2007 when they sold the company to Bytes Systems Integration. Paul worked as a Senior Architect at Bytes during the handover period.
In 2007, Paul also became the CEO of NML, a position they still hold. In 2016, they founded Atura and became the CEO. Lastly, in 2022, they took on the role of Non-Executive Director at MORE Family Collection.
Paul Cartmel earned a Master's degree in Engineering from the University of Cape Town between 2003 and 2008.
