Mats Benserud has a diverse work experience in the banking sector. Mats started their career at SpareBank 1 Gruppen AS as a Controller and later moved on to become an Analyst and Risk Manager. Mats then joined SpareBank 1 Markets AS as a Senior Associate in Investment Banking, and later worked as an Equity Analyst, focusing on Financial Institutions. In 2013, Mats became a Business Controller (CFO) at OBOS-banken AS and also served as the CEO of OBOS Boligkreditt AS. In 2018, they transitioned to Bank Norwegian, where they held various roles including Head of Treasury and Investor Relations, CFO, and Branch CFO. Currently, Mats is working at NOBA Bank Group as a Branch Manager and Branch CFO, as well as serving as the Group Head of Investor Relations.
Mats Benserud completed their MSc in Economics and Business Administration, with a major in Finance, from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) between 2001 and 2006. In 2009, they pursued an AFA/Certified European Financial Analyst (CEFA) program at the Stockholm School of Economics. In 2008, they obtained the Fixed Income Analyst certification from The Norwegian Society of Financial Analysts - NFF. Additionally, they participated in a student exchange program at the University of Otago in 2005 (as part of their studies at NHH).
