Royal Bissell has worked in various roles since 2007. Royal began as a Computer Specialist at London Drugs, where they reduced on hand inventory by 20%, trained as acting department manager and modeled department line of sight in CAD software to present a new department layout proposal. In 2012, they accepted a role as a Student Contractor at WestJet, where they applied lean and six sigma methodologies to develop a structured research study on WestJet's current baggage operations. Royal then moved to Clean Harbors, where they were a Systems Analyst, Navigation Technologies and a Buried Facilities Locator. During their time there, they led the design and architecture on a new software plugin, resolved a backlog of over a year's worth of JIRA issues, managed a work crew, and addressed a situation where heavy equipment had the potential to damage a pipeline. In 2016, they joined Nobal Technologies as Chief Product Officer and Product Manager. Finally, in 2021, they accepted the role of Director of Innovation at NOBAL Technologies Inc.

Royal Bissell began their educational career in 2007 when they attended the University of Calgary and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) in Operations Management in 2012. Royal then attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and obtained a Certificate in Object Oriented Software Development in 2016. Royal also attended SAIT, but did not obtain a degree.
