Jim Ellis

Jim Ellis has over 35 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Jim began their career in 1985 as a Pharmacologist at Nova Pharmaceutical. Jim then moved on to CytoMed, Inc. where they were a Senior Director from 1996 to 1996. Jim then joined UCB Pharma as a Senior Director of Pharmacology and Group Director of Allergy and Respiratory from 1996 to 2003. From 2003 to 2006, Jim was the Executive Director and Chief Biology Advisor at NitroMed. Jim then served as Vice President of Research at Surface Logix from 2006 to 2008. From 2008 to 2013, they were the Vice President, Head of Sirtuin DPU at GlaxoSmithKline. In 2017, they became Vice President, Head of the Boston Innovation Hub at GSK and a Scientific Advisory Board Member at Metro Biotech. Currently, Jim is the Chief Scientific Officer at Nocion Therapeutics, Inc. where they are responsible for leading their R&D efforts in developing novel treatments for chronic cough, pain and itch.

Jim Ellis has an education history that spans from 1982 to 1989. Jim attended Morrison's Academy, followed by the University of Aberdeen from 1982 to 1986 where they obtained a Bsc. (Hons) in Pharmacology. Jim then attended UCL from 1986 to 1989 where they obtained a Ph.D. in Neurobiology.
