Patrick O'Connell B.Eng, M.Sc has over 12 years of professional experience in the engineering and technology industries. In 2009, they began their career as a Research and Development Engineer at LB Foster - Salient Systems, Inc. where they designed, developed, and tested technology solutions for friction control problems. In 2011, they became an International Tour Leader for Topdeck Travel. In 2013, they were appointed as an Innovation Project Manager for Yvolution (Yvolve Sports Ltd). In 2017, they moved to Synergy Solutions as a Business Development Representative ANZ, where they supported lead and opportunity generation activities. In 2018, they joined Bentley Systems as an Account Manager (Architecture Engineering Construction) UKI and Product Sales Representative- (Hydrology and Hydraulics). In 2020, they took on the role of Account Executive at Autodesk Construction Solutions. Currently, they are an Enterprise Account Executive at Nodes & Links, a technology company that works with global leaders in the project delivery space.

Patrick O'Connell holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin, which they obtained in 2009. Patrick then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.Sc.) Global Innovation Management, which they completed in two parts. The first year was done at the University of Strathclyde in 2012 and the second year was done at Hamburg University of Technology in 2013-2014. Additionally, Patrick O'Connell holds certifications in Prince2 Foundation Project Management and Prince2 Practitioner Project Management from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, which they obtained in 2015. Patrick also holds certifications in European Tour Guide from ETOA - European tourism association, PADI Advanced open water diver and Padi Open Water Diver from PADI, and Static Line Skydiver from BRITISH PARACHUTE ASSOCIATION.
