Frank Hsiung

Director of Biology/Applications at Nodexus

Frank Hsiung has over 20 years of experience in the field of biology. Frank began their career in 2002 as a Postdoc at UCSF, where they discovered a novel mechanism in long distance cell-cell signal transport and unveiled a new layer of complexity in ligand-receptor interaction. In 2007, they joined Bend Research as a Research Biologist, where they were the technical lead for the siRNA Delivery and the Bioprocessing programs. Frank also designed and built a brand-new Biology lab with imaging capability. In 2008, they joined Bio-Rad Laboratories as a Staff Scientist, where they headed Cell Biology projects and developed several products from concept to Market. Frank also participated in strategic planning and evaluated potential merger and acquisition opportunities. In 2016, they became the Director of R&D at System Biosciences, where they were responsible for defining the R&D vision, creating and implementing product development processes, and managing the P&L. Frank also strategically designed R&D programs and tactically constructed the New Product pipeline. Currently, they are the Director of Biology/Applications at Nodexus Inc.

Frank Hsiung's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry from the University of Iowa, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and a Ph.D. in Developmental Cell Biology from the University of Southern California. Frank also attended the International Christian School in Costa Rica.
