Jan vander Roost

Jan Vander Roost has a diverse work experience in the field of microbiology and engineering. Jan worked as a Chief Engineer at Nofima since April 2019. Previously, Jan served as a Microbiology Engineer at PHARMAQ Analytiq AS, where they established a new laboratory for microbiology and was responsible for its maintenance and quality verification. Jan also worked as a Doctorate student at the University of Bergen, specializing in microbiology and molecular biology, where they conducted research on iron oxidizers in the Norwegian Sea and studied other iron mat-associated bacterial groups along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Jan completed their Master's degree in Biochemistry & Biotechnology at Ghent University, with a focus on microbiology and biomedicine, and conducted their thesis on microbial gut colonization as an Erasmus exchange student at the Centre of Ecological and Evolutionary Synthesis, University of Oslo.

Jan Vander Roost pursued a Bachelor of Biochemistry & Biotechnology degree from 2007 to 2012. The field of study for this degree was specifically Biochemistry and Biotechnology.
