Derek Urbaniak

Derek Urbaniak is an accomplished leader in the semiconductor and telecommunications industries with extensive experience in system-on-chip development and product engineering. Currently serving as the Head of System-on-Chip for Nokia Mobile Networks, Derek manages a large organization focused on RF and Baseband Digital SoCs, playing a crucial role in Nokia’s 5G and future 6G initiatives. Prior to Nokia, Derek led the Product Engineering Unit Silicon at Ericsson, overseeing the development of radio and baseband solutions. Derek has held several technical leadership positions at prominent companies including Oracle, Sun Microsystems, and AMD, and possesses a strong educational background with a BSE in Electrical Engineering from Baylor University and an MSEE in Microelectronics from The University of Texas at Dallas.
