Lucas Noldus is the Founder & CEO of Noldus Information Technology BV, a company that develops and supports software and instruments for behavioral research. Lucas is also a Professor at Radboud University Nijmegen and a Fellow at the Netherlands Academy of Engineering. Additionally, Lucas holds several roles in various organizations such as the International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences, where they are the Chairman of the Communications Committee, and the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence, where they are a Member of the Expert Group. Lucas is also the Chairman of the Advisory Board at the Wildlife Forensic Academy and serves as the Secretary for the Man-Machine Interaction Platform. Furthermore, Lucas is a Member of the Advisory Committee Aerospace Operations at NLR - Netherlands Aerospace Centre and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Stichting Belmonte Arboretum. Lucas is a Member of the Governing Board at the ICAI Lab "AI for Precision Health, Nutrition & Behaviour."

Lucas Noldus received their Gymnasium B degree from Sint-Oelbert Gymnasium in 1977. Lucas then pursued a Master of Science degree in Biology at Leiden University from 1977 to 1983. Later, they attended Wageningen University & Research where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Entomology/Animal Behavior from 1986 to 1989.
