Sherri Davies Cunningham has extensive work experience in marketing, communications, and public relations. Sherri is currently the Director of Marketing & Communications at the NoMa Business Improvement District since 2020. Prior to that, they were the President and Founder of CP Communications, a strategic PR consulting firm, from 2002 to 2020. In this role, they led and managed the firm, serving clients in various industries such as tech/telecom, real estate development, retail, hospitality, and women's entrepreneurship. Sherri also has experience as a Group Director at DCS Group, where they led the healthcare and tech PR practice for a bipartisan Capitol Hill lobbying firm. Additionally, they worked as an Account Supervisor at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, an On Air Host at Korean Educational Broadcasting System, and a Media Specialist at the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Sherri also held positions at Ogilvy Public Relations and the Commission on Presidential Debates. Sherri began their career as a Legislative Assistant at Davis, Polk & Wardwell, where they worked on legislative policy and tax issues. Throughout their career, Sherri has developed expertise in strategic communications planning, message/narrative development, media relations, social media strategy and execution, executive visibility, and corporate social responsibility. Some of their notable clients include Verizon Wireless, JBG, Fivesquares Development LLC, Chesapeake Bay Candle, Costco, Wal-mart, Potomac Nationals, Aetna US Healthcare, Network Solutions, Bell Atlantic Mobile/Verizon Wireless, March of Dimes, Burger King, and Multi-Employer Property Trust.

Sherri Davies Cunningham attended Duke University from 1981 to 1985, where they obtained their AB degree. During their time at Duke, they pursued a double major in Economics and Spanish.
