Dane Afuang has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries. They started their career at Mindoro Biodiversity Conservation Foundation Inc. in 2017 as a Communication Consultant. Here, they created a Communication Plan for the conservation of the biodiversity of Mt. Iglit-Baco and the protection of the Philippine Tamaraw. Dane designed interview and survey materials, analyzed gathered data, and documented media materials during the biodiversity survey. They also constructed recommendations for communication and educational opportunities for future projects and campaigns.

In 2017, Dane also worked as the Communication and Public Engagement Director at Active Vista Center Inc. They served in this role until 2018.

From 2018 to 2019, Dane served as the Education Director at Active Vista Center Inc. Here, they organized and managed the Education Program of the institution, with a focus on Human Rights and Youth Empowerment. Dane was instrumental in producing the institute's educational programs and modules to create relevant learning journeys for the youth. They also led various projects, including the Heroes Hub Youth Fellowship Program, Heroes Hub Youth Empowerment Summit, Digital Activism Training Program, and Human Rights Education 101 : Self, Community and Society.

In 2019, Dane joined WeWork as a Community Associate. They handled daily client concerns and led building operations for flexible office solutions. Dane also completed the Learn Ambassador Certification program, enabling them to design and conduct distance learning activities for employees across South East Asia. They held this position until 2021.

Currently, Dane is working at Nomad as a Customer Support Specialist. They are responsible for advocating customer satisfaction through effective communication. Dane handles post-delivery product and customer concerns, including warranty claims, fraud, and inventory management. They bring over 3 years of expertise in customer solutions platforms and advanced skills in data management to their role.

Dane Afuang completed a Bachelor of Science in Development Communication from the University of the Philippines Los Baños from 2012 to 2017.
