R. Lee Farmer has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. They currently work at the Nonprofit Finance Fund as the Financing Director for Community Asset Ownership and previously held the position of Manager of Business Development. Farmer is also a Board Member at the Coastal Organics Cooperative since December 2021.
Prior to these roles, Farmer worked at the Coastal Organics Cooperative as the General Manager from April 2020 to October 2021, and as the Assistant General Manager from November 2019 to April 2020.
Before joining the cooperative, Farmer served as a Strategic Advisor at Nuru International from July 2018 to April 2019. They also held the positions of Agribusiness Program Manager from May 2017 to June 2018 and Monitoring and Evaluation Program Manager in Ethiopia from June 2016 to June 2017.
Farmer's earlier experience includes working as a Graduate Student Instructor and Master of Development Practice Student at UC Berkeley, a Global Development Fellow at USAID, an Analyst at Ceniarth LLC, and holding various positions at UBS, including International Analyst, Program Manager for UBS Pride Americas Operating Committee, and Graduate Training Program participant.
Additionally, Farmer is the Founder and VP of Finance at Net Impact Undergrad from January 2010 to May 2012, where they played a significant role in the organization's establishment.
R. Lee Farmer completed a Master of Development Practice degree in Food Systems and Impact Evaluation from the University of California, Berkeley, during the period of 2014 to 2016. Prior to this, Farmer obtained a BS/BA degree in Finance from Boston University, which was completed between 2008 and 2012.
