Melvin Sharty

Melvin Sharty is an experienced professional in communications and project coordination within the peacebuilding sector. Currently serving as the Communications Point of Contact at Nonviolent Peaceforce, Melvin supports and coordinates communications across offices in New York and Minneapolis. Previously, Melvin worked as a Project Coordinator at River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding, where responsibilities included research, proposal development, and event organization. Additional roles include a Communications Intern at Religions for Peace International, a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the Pulte Institute for Global Development, and a Monitoring and Evaluation Manager at Network Movement for Democracy and Human Rights. Melvin holds a Master's degree in Global Affairs with a focus on International Peace Studies from the Keough School of Global Affairs and a Bachelor's degree in History and Sociology from the University of Sierra Leone.
