Reid Johnson

Principal Animator at Noodle Cat Games

Reid Johnson has extensive experience in the field of animation, beginning with their role as a Graphic Design/Illustration Intern and Temporary Employee at Aldus Corporation in 1989. Reid then joined Microsoft in 1991 and worked as a 2D animator on various CD-ROM titles, later transitioning to become a 3D modeler and animator for games and videos.

In 1998, Reid joined Sucker Punch Productions as a Lead Animator, where they worked until 2002. Reid then moved on to Escape Factory and Amaze Entertainment, working as an Animator and Lead Animator respectively.

In 2005, Reid joined Zipper Interactive as an Animator, and in 2011, they joined Undead Labs where they took on multiple roles including (Re)Animator, Animation Director, and eventually Principal Animator. Reid'stenure at Undead Labs ended in 2023.

During their career, Reid has also been involved in mentoring and education. In 2018, they worked as a Game Animation Fundamentals Workshop Mentor at Animation Mentor.

Most recently, Reid joined Noodle Cat Games in 2023 as a Principal Animator.

Reid Johnson's educational journey began at Green River College, where they pursued Architectural Drafting from 1982 to 1984. After that, they enrolled at the University of Washington from 1984 to 1986 to study Graphic Design. Reid then attended Cornish College of the Arts from 1986 to 1989, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Graphic Design. Later, in 2007 and 2008, they attended Animation Mentor to develop their skills in Character Animation.
