Gordo Cross has an extensive work experience in the military and defense industry. Gordo began their career in 2005 as Division Director at U.S. Special Operations Command, where they managed and administered the experimentation of future concepts and advanced technologies. In 2007, they became Commanding Officer | Director | Executive Officer of a Japan-based U.S. Navy organization with over $850M in capital assets, 250 personnel and an annual operating budget over $20M. In 2010, they were promoted to Branch Head, Aviation at US Navy Staff: N80 Office of Programming, where they were responsible for the development and integration of the Department of Navy Aviation Warfare Budget totaling $130B. In 2013, they took on the roles of Deputy Director, Navy Office of Special Programs (OPNAV N9SP) and Commanding Officer | Director, where they managed and directed all operations of an integrated 400 civilian/military personnel team with over $3B in capital assets and an annual operating budget of $30M. In 2019, they became Director, Navy Next Generation Requirements at Lockheed Martin. Most recently, in 2022, they were appointed General Manager - Atlantic Region at Nooks LLC, where they are tackling the challenging necessity of Classified Space as a Service (CSaaS) to accelerate collaboration, technology transfer and engagement between industry and government.
Gordo Cross holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the US Naval Post Graduate School. Gordo also attended the United States Navy Test Pilot School.
