Head Of Early Stage Formulations, Pharmaceutical Development at Norbrook Laboratories

Tim Brannigan has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Tim started their career as a Pre-registration Pharmacist at Southern Health and Social Care Trust in 2013. Tim then worked as a Pharmacist at Northern Health and Social Care Trust, where they focused on maintaining the safe supply of medications, particularly red list medications. In 2013, they also worked as a Locum Pharmacist, providing temporary pharmacist services.

In 2016, Tim joined Almac Group as a Formulation Scientist, where they developed oral dosage formulations for clinical supply and gained experience in unit operations such as dry/wet granulation and tableting. Tim later became a Senior Chemist (Preformulation) at Almac Group, where they carried out early enabling formulation activities and provided technical input for client visits and quotations.

In 2019, Tim joined Norbrook Laboratories ltd as a Formulation Chemist. In this role, they developed and optimized pharmaceutical products, undertook activities such as reverse engineering and tech transfer, and mentored group chemists. Tim later became the Principal Scientist, Pharmaceutical Development, and then the Head of Early Stage Formulations, Pharmaceutical Development.

Tim also pursued academic research as a PhD Candidate at Queen's University Belfast, where they investigated drug solubility enhancement through engineering of amorphous solid dispersions.

Tim Brannigan obtained their education from Queen's University Belfast. From 2008 to 2012, they pursued a Master's Degree in Pharmacy. Following this, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, spanning from 2013 to 2017. In addition to their academic qualifications, Tim obtained certification in Bioequivalence and IVIVC from Symmetric Training in November 2022.
