John Canby

John Canby is an experienced professional with a strong background in engineering and management within the geophysical and energy sectors. Currently serving as Commissioner at Nordex Group since October 2021, John previously held the position of Operations Manager at BGP, overseeing 2D seismic surveys in Papua New Guinea. As Party Chief at CGG from October 2011 to April 2020, John managed land geophysical projects, ensuring successful execution and project control. Earlier roles include Manufacturing Engineer and Wireline Field Engineer at Schlumberger, and Applications Engineer at Comco Inc., where John developed specialized tooling and procedures. John holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, complemented by an Occupational Certificate in Wind Energy Technology from Mesalands Community College.
