Jared Houck

Jared Houck has a diverse work experience in the field of nursing informatics. Jared is currently serving as the Chief Nursing Informatics Officer at Roper St. Francis Healthcare through Nordic Global, where they are responsible for establishing goals and implementation plans for clinical information systems. Jared also serves as a liaison between nursing and IT, manages the Clinical Informatics Nurse team, and actively participates in various committees and councils.

Prior to their current role, Jared worked at Roper St. Francis Healthcare as the Chief Nursing Informatics Officer and Service Line Director for Clinical Informatics. In this position, they collaborated with IT leadership and other clinical and operational leaders to establish goals and plans for clinical information systems. Jared also served as the primary liaison between nursing leadership and IT and contributed to several committees related to nursing governance, reporting oversight, risk management, and more.

Before joining Roper St. Francis Healthcare, Jared worked at UNC Health as an Epic Analyst and Application Coordinator, where they played a crucial role in the implementation and standardization of the Epic 2012 EHR system. Jared was also responsible for analyzing and building various modules, such as Core Measures, Meaningful Use, and documentation for physicians and pediatric nurses.

Additionally, Jared held the position of Clinical Systems Analyst at UNC Health, where they successfully implemented the Siemens Soarian EHR system in numerous hospital units. Jared also worked on projects related to plan of care development, device connectivity, and clinical workflow automation.

Jared began their career as an RN in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at UNC Health, where they provided care to critically ill pediatric patients. During their time there, they also took on various leadership roles such as Charge Nurse, Preceptor, and member of the unit governance council.

Prior to their nursing career, Jared worked as an RN in the Operating Room at LeBonheur Children's Hospital.

Jared Houck holds a Master of Health Informatics and Information Management (MHIIM) degree from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, which they obtained from 2010 to 2012. Jared also has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) from Baptist Health Sciences University, attained between 1997 and 2000. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology from The University of Memphis, awarded from 1994 to 1998. Jared has obtained various certifications throughout their career, including Board-Certified Informatics Nurse and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Jared is also a Registered Nurse.
