Before joining Departments & Stores, they worked at IDAG Designers, where they were involved in design, marketing, and sales of accessories, particularly bags and clothing. Their responsibilities included expanding the brand's presence in the UK and international markets. Early in their career, Jenny worked as a Store Manager at ORDNING&REDA.
Jenny Lundqvist began their education in 1992 at Basis Konstskola, where they pursued a Foundation degree in Art/Art Studies, General. Jenny continued their studies at Southgate College from 1994 to 1995, earning another Foundation degree in the same field. Jenny then went on to attend Camberwell College of Art in London from 1995 to 1998, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Graphic Design and Illustration.

Hufvudstaden AB owns AB Nordiska Kompaniet, which in turn owns the NK real estate in Stockholm and Gothenburg, the brand NK, NK e-commerce and NK Retail AB. The stores at NK are operated by freestanding companies under department store like forms. All departments have separate leasing agreements with AB Nordiska Kompaniet. In total approx. 100 companies run 110 NK departments in Stockholm and 50 departments in Gothenburg. Nordiska Kompaniet bought Departments & Stores Europe AB, founded in 2005, in February of 2021. In the acquisition Departments & Stores became NK Retail AB.
