Janakirama Raju Penmetsa

Janakirama Raju Penmetsa has extensive experience in engineering leadership, currently serving as Director of Engineering at Nordstrom since November 2017. In this role, Janakirama leads the checkout enterprise services team and successfully implemented a new checkout system that processes approximately $5 billion in yearly orders. Previous positions include Engineering Manager at DoubleDown Interactive, where Janakirama re-architected the server platform using microservices and AWS technologies, and Software Development Manager at MemoryLane Inc, known for digitizing yearbooks. Education includes a Master of Technology in Computer Science from the University of Hyderabad and a Bachelor’s in Engineering from Andhra University.
