Derek Blankenship

Derek Blankenship is a QA Engineer at NoRedInk. Derek was previously a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer at California School Information Services from August 2020 to December 2021. Derek was responsible for repairing and refactoring a broken Selenium test suite, implementing best practices for readable and extensible code, as well as achieving vast performance gains. Derek also added support for headless operation of the web browser during testing and integrated with internal REST APIs for faster and more reliable test setup. Derek also designed and implemented an improved automated deployment process, taking advantage of built-in functionality for Azure DevOps. Derek developed an environment-sensitive, data-driven configuration strategy.

Before their time at California School Information Services, Derek worked as a Software Development Programmer II at Experian from November 2019 to July 2020. There, they supported mission-critical remittance management software used by healthcare providers. Derek also automated a payer maintenance process, cutting support time from 20 hours/week down to just four. In addition, Derek built tools to export and clean historical data from our legacy application going back 7-10 years. Finally, they developed an application to integrate Splunk and SalesForce.
