Ryan McLain

Ryan McLain has extensive experience in the rail industry, currently serving as the Director of Field Safety at Norfolk Southern since December 2004. In this role, Ryan leads initiatives to enhance employee safety behaviors and promote continuous improvement in safety practices. Previous positions at Norfolk Southern include Director of Safety & Operating Practices, Senior Manager of Operations Safety, and various managerial roles within Mechanical Operations. Ryan's earlier career includes serving as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in the United States Marine Corps. Ryan holds a Lean certificate from the University of Kentucky and a Graduate Certificate in Executive Development from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
