Zhilan Deng

Zhilan Deng is a GIS Data Analyst at Norfolk Southern Corporation since May 2017, contributing to the Positive Train Control project with the Federal Railroad Administration to enhance railroad safety. Previously served as a Geospatial Information Intern at the United Nations, where responsibilities included analyzing incident data for Ukraine and Iraq and creating thematic maps for the UN Secretariat. Experience also includes a role as a Geographic Statistics Analyst at Location, Inc., where statistical analyses improved real estate evaluation reports, and as a GIS Data Specialist at Communities for Kids Inc., developing web mapping applications. Zhilan holds a Master's degree in Computer Science/Machine Learning from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master's degree in Geographic Information Science from Clark University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information System from Wuhan University.
