Christina Abildgaard

Christina Abildgaard is an accomplished leader in research and development, currently serving as Avdelingsdirektør at Norges forskningsråd since January 2011, where Christina directs the department for Hav og Polar to enhance coordination in marine and polar research. Previous roles include Konstituert Områdedirektør at Fiskeri- og kystdepartementet, overseeing research in sustainable community development, and various directorial positions within Norges forskningsråd focused on future technologies, biotechnology, and ethical considerations in research. Christina has been active in national and international committees, including for OECD and the EU's framework in biotechnology. Christina holds a Dr.scient degree from Norges landbrukshøgskole and has a solid foundation in food sciences from their cand.scient degree in Næringsmiddelfag.
