Michele Cohen

Principal, Health Sciences, Canada at NORR

Michele is an innovative and experienced architect and medical planner with twenty years of experience developing healthcare, laboratories, commercial and public facility solutions throughout Canada and the United States. She has worked on multiple AFP projects in Ontario and P3 projects across Canada. Michele is fluent in all aspects of DBFM delivery as a leader and member on both PDC and Bid Teams. She has special experience in quality assurance, risk mitigation and constructability and has project management experience working with multi-disciplinary teams that have delivered more that seven million square feet of Health Science projects.

As a Health Sciences Principal at NORR, Michele has comprehensive knowledge of clinical planning and strong technical knowledge to implement programs within prescribed budgets and timetables. Her responsibilities as a leader of multi-disciplinary teams is to manage project design, coordination, construction documentation and contract administration. Michela believes her real strength is the ability to interpret the needs of clients to ensure their requirements are synthesized into the final architectural solution. This strength results in design and programs that successfully integrate hospital departments, including on-site lab facilities and their various service lines, and are responsive and adaptable to current and advancing technical healthcare trends

Michele’s leadership experience ranges from small community clinics to 1,000-bed urban hospital complexes as well as various other typologies. Her project experience in Ontario includes: the Humber River Hospital, Trillium Health Partners; the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health; the Niagara Health System and the New Women’s College Hospital to name a few. Her international experience includes project leadership roles for Cedars Sinai Medical Center and LAC+USC Medical Center, Los Angeles, California; and Dubai Healthcare City, Harvard Medical International, Dubai, UAE and the National Oncology Centre in Trinidad.
