Ian A. has accumulated extensive experience in environmental science, currently serving as an Environmental Scientist at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research since January 2008. Prior to this role, Ian A. worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Portsmouth from July 2004 to December 2007, focusing on the EU FP6-funded project SWIFT-WFD, which involved the assessment and validation of screening tools for Water Framework Directive chemical monitoring, along with the development of passive sampling tools. Ian A. also held the position of Postdoctoral Senior Research Associate at the University of East Anglia from July 2003 to July 2004, contributing to the LINK Biorem 7 project, where the focus was on validating a chemical extraction method for assessing microbial bioavailability of organic contaminants. Ian A. began the academic journey as a PhD student at the University of Reading’s Postgraduate Institute for Sedimentology from 1999 to 2003.
