Karl Fossum

Director, Customer Programs at Norsk Titanium

Karl Fossum has worked in many different industries throughout their career. In 2000, they worked as a Draftsman for Marine Drilling Companies. From 2002 to 2014, they served as a Naval Flight Officer for the US Navy. In 2014, they became a Manager for Zodiac Aerospace, where they were responsible for training, logistics, industrial engineering, CAPEX and implementing associated elements in MRP. In the same year, they also joined the US Navy Reserve as CDR, USN (Ret). In 2017, they became the Director of Customer Programs at Norsk Titanium, where they were a growth driver for an innovative startup in additive manufacturing. In 2018, they won the Aviation Week Laureates Award for Supplier Innovation, Commercial category.

Karl Fossum attended the Oslo and Akershus University College from 1997 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering. Karl then attended the Officer Candidate School, US Navy from 2000 to 2001, where they studied Military Science and Leadership. From 2001 to 2002, they attended the Joint Undergraduate Navigator Training, where they studied Airmanship. Finally, in 2011 they attended the Naval Postgraduate School, where they obtained an Executive Master of Business Administration in Defense Financial Management. Additionally, Karl Fossum has obtained certifications from the Defense Acquisition University, including Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Level 2 Test & Evaluation in 2013, Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Level 1 Program Management (PMP) in 2013, and CPI (Lean Six Sigma) Green Belt Training from the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in 2014.
