Wafering Technology Manager at NorSun AS

John Carlo Zuñiga has an extensive work experience in various roles and companies within the solar energy and manufacturing industries. John Carlo is currently employed as the Wafering Technology Manager at NorSun, a position they have held since January 2022.

Prior to joining NorSun, Zuñiga worked at Maxeon Solar Technologies, where they served as the Principal Silicon R&D Engineer from August 2020 to November 2021.

Zuñiga also worked at SunPower Corporation for a significant part of their career. John Carlo initially joined the company in 2005 and held several roles, including Staff R&D Engineer, Senior R&D Engineer, and Sr. Print Process Optimization Engineer, all within the New Product Introduction Group. John Carlo contributed to the transition of new module products and materials from the R&D stage to production readiness, as well as supporting the qualification of new processes, suppliers, and materials.

In addition, Zuñiga held the position of Sr. Staff Engineer (Section Manager Level) at SunPower Corporation from August 2014 to April 2017. John Carlo also worked in their Principal Silicon R&D Engineer role from April 2017 to August 2020.

Prior to their solar energy industry experience, Zuñiga worked at Coca-Cola Bottlers Phil, Inc. - FEMSA as a Process Engineer (Middle Manager Level) from July 2013 to August 2014. John Carlo was responsible for local project implementation in the areas of water treatment, waste water treatment, and syrup mixing process.

Before that, Zuñiga held the role of Process Engineering Manager at First Philec Solar Corporation from July 2012 to June 2013, as well as at First Philec Nexolon Corporation from February 2011 to July 2012. In both positions, they were responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the engineering requirements of the companies to support manufacturing and deliver quality and cost-effective products.

Overall, John Carlo Zuñiga has built a strong career with significant experience in research and development, process engineering, project management, and leadership positions within the solar energy and manufacturing industries.

John Carlo Zuñiga earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mapua Institute Of Technology - Manila. John Carlo completed their education in this field from 2001 to 2005 at the said institute.
