Douglas L. Carver

Douglas L. Carver currently serves as the Executive Director of Chaplaincy for the North American Mission Board, a role held since April 2012, providing support to 3,600 Southern Baptist Chaplains worldwide. Carver has previously held interim pastor positions at First Baptist Church, Idlewild Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church of Matthews, North Carolina. Carver's military career spans from June 1973 to July 2011, culminating as Chief of Chaplains for the US Army, advising senior Army leadership on religious matters. Carver holds a Doctor of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, a Master of Strategic Studies from The United States Army War College, a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
