Kara M. Burns

Kara M. Burns has a diverse work experience in the veterinary industry. Kara M. is currently working as the Director of Veterinary Nursing Development at WellHaven Pet Health since May 2021. Additionally, they have worked as an Independent Nutritional and Healthcare Team Wellness Consultant since 2010, providing nutrition training and professional development training for veterinary healthcare teams.

Kara has also served as a Nutritional Consultant at The Lafeber Company since December 2012. Moreover, they have been the Editor In Chief of Today's Veterinary Nurse, the official veterinary nursing journal of the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC), since June 2018. Kara M. continued their education at the University of Maine, earning a Master's degree (MEd) in Counseling Psychology from 1987 to 1989.

Additionally, Kara has obtained several certifications in the field of veterinary medicine. Kara M. is a Certified Veterinary Technician in New Jersey and Massachusetts, as well as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Maine. Furthermore, they hold a VTS (Nutrition) certification from NAVTA.
