Niayai Lavien

Niayai "Ni" Lavien, J.D., currently serves as the Party Affairs Director for the North Carolina Democratic Party, a position held since August 2023. Lavien's previous experience includes legal internships with the State of North Carolina's Office of General Counsel and organizations such as the AFL-CIO and the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy. From March 2020 to August 2020, Lavien was a Field Organizer for the North Carolina Democratic Party and previously for Warren for President. Moreover, Lavien held significant leadership roles at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, including Student Body President, where representation of over 29,000 undergraduate students was a key responsibility. Lavien's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Juris Doctor from Campbell University, Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law.
