Oleksandr Movchan has a diverse work experience in the field of economics and data analytics. Oleksandr began their career as an Instructor at North Carolina State University in 2005, teaching Macroeconomics and Microeconomics. Oleksandr then moved on to become an Adjunct Lecturer at Elon University and North Carolina State University, teaching Economics, Money and Banking, and Business Statistics. In 2008, they became an Associate Professor of Economics at Siena Heights University. In 2016, they joined Meredith College MBA Program as a Lecturer, teaching International Economics. Additionally, they held various roles at the North Carolina Department of Commerce, starting as an Economist in 2016 and later becoming the Director of Data Analytics and Research in 2019.

Oleksandr Movchan pursued their education in a sequential manner, beginning with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Cherkasy State Technological University, which they completed between 1994 and 1998. Oleksandr then went on to Cherkasy State Technological University for another degree, earning a Specialist degree in Economics from 1998 to 1999. Seeking further knowledge and expertise, they enrolled at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, where they studied Economics and obtained a Master of Arts degree from 2001 to 2003. Continuously striving for academic excellence, Oleksandr pursued their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from Kiel University, which they completed in 2004. Finally, they joined North Carolina State University in 2004, where they completed their Ph.D. in Economics in 2009.
