Allison Hawkins

Allison Hawkins currently serves as the Assistant Attorney General at the NC Department of Justice since September 2023. Prior to this role, Hawkins was an Associate at Covington & Burling LLP from September 2019 to September 2023 and completed a Judicial Law Clerk position at the United States District Court Eastern District of Virginia from August 2018 to August 2019. Additional experience includes a Summer Associate role and a Judicial Intern position at Covington & Burling LLP and the Supreme Court of North Carolina, respectively. Hawkins has also held various positions such as Policy Intern at the Public School Forum of North Carolina, Emerging Leaders Fellow at the Institute for Emerging Issues, and New Generation Initiative Program Assistant at the Caswell County Partnership for Children. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Law (J.D.) and a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from the University of North Carolina, along with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
