Zachary Dunn

Special Deputy Attorney General at NC Department of Justice

Zachary Dunn is an accomplished attorney currently serving as a Special Deputy Attorney General in the Appellate & Post-Conviction Section of the NC Department of Justice since May 2020, representing the State of North Carolina in criminal appeals and post-conviction litigation. Prior to this role, Zachary worked as an Assistant Attorney General at Smith Debnam Narron Drake Saintsing & Myers, L.L.P. from 2017 to 2020, focusing on commercial disputes and representing clients in various courts. Earlier experience includes serving as a law clerk for Chief Judge Linda McGee and Judge John M. Tyson at the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts, where extensive research and drafting of opinions were performed. Zachary holds a Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, Cum Laude, from Appalachian State University.
