John Panza

John Panza has over 30 years of experience in the tax department field. John began their career in 1984 as a Senior Tax Auditor at the West Virginia Tax Department, where they worked until 1999. In 1999, they joined the NC Department of Revenue as an Examinations Manager and held that position until 2011. From 2011 to 2013, they served as the Assistant Director of the Excise Tax Division, and then they were promoted to the role of Director of the Excise Tax Division in 2013.

John Panza earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.Ad.) degree in Accounting from West Virginia University. Additionally, they obtained the Certified Public Manager certification from the NC Office of State Personnel in October 2005. In January 2009, they completed the Leadership Excellence Program offered by the NC Department of Revenue.
