Jacqueline Chiras has a strong background in finance and operations, with extensive experience in both the nonprofit and corporate sectors. Jacqueline has served as the Director of Finance and Operations for the North Carolina Education Corps, where they successfully started and ramped up a new nonprofit organization and secured ample funding. Prior to that, they were a Business Consultant, specializing in financial, human resources, and operational business consulting. Jacqueline overhauled agency policies and procedures to streamline business practices and developed employee manuals and internal policies to increase staff retention. Jacqueline also worked as the Finance Director for the Poe Center for Health Education, overseeing all financial activities and implementing system controls to improve financial processes. Additionally, they served as a Controller/Senior Financial Business Analyst for Serta Simmons Bedding, where they planned and coordinated manufacturing plant budgets and achieved budgeted goals to increase profits. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Finance and Benefits Analyst for Disability Rights New York, transforming the organization into a larger federally funded nonprofit with multiple offices. Jacqueline also has management experience as a Manager for DejaVu, where they were responsible for the daily operations of a chain of retail stores and implemented a POS/ERP system to increase efficiency and procurement accuracy.
Jacqueline Chiras completed their education at the University at Albany, SUNY. Jacqueline obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Criminal Justice/Police Science from 1996 to 2001. Later, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in Criminal Justice/Police Science from 2002 to 2006. Finally, they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management from 2016 to 2019.
