John Dittmar, MPA, is currently the Director of Safety and Security at NC State Ports Authority. Prior to this role, John served as a Military Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard for over 20 years, with experience in maritime safety and security, vessel inspections, marine casualty investigations, and homeland security planning. John holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Alaska Southeast and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from the US Coast Guard Academy.
