Ronald Funderburk has a diverse work experience in finance and consulting. Ronald started their career as a Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs in 2002 and 2003. Ronald then worked as an Associate at Ernst & Young, specializing in Technology Security and Risk Services. Ronald joined AllianceBernstein as an Equity Research Analyst, focusing on the heavy equipment and industrial sector. Currently, Ronald works at the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer - Retirement Systems Division. Ronald started as a Portfolio Manager and is now the Investment Director, responsible for credit and inflation strategies. Ronald manages a significant portfolio of over $60 billion in assets, investing across various asset classes including fixed income, equities, private equity, real estate, and distressed credit products.

Ronald Funderburk has a strong educational background in both business and computer engineering. Ronald obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University, where they studied from 1999 to 2004. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Engineering from the same institution, studying between 2002 and 2004.

Ronald further enriched their education by attending Harvard Business School, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. During their time at Harvard, from 2006 to 2008, they focused their studies on Investment Management and General Management.

In addition to their formal education, Ronald Funderburk holds various certifications. Ronald obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute in January 2012. Ronald also received the Alternative Investment Analyst Charter (CAIA Charter) from the CAIA Association in May 2019.
