Darlene Schaefer

Darlene Schaefer has extensive experience in educational roles, currently serving as an Instructional Designer at North Carolina Virtual Public School since May 2009, where leadership is provided to a team of Instructional Technology Specialists to develop online learning courses for students in grades 6-12. In addition to this role, Darlene functions as a Curriculum Coordinator, collaborating with subject matter experts to create fully-online and blended learning courses, and serves as a Curriculum Instructional Leader since November 2013. Darlene also teaches English at Central Piedmont Community College, while prior positions include writing for Lake Norman Citizen and teaching English and Journalism in both Wake County Public School System and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Darlene's educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Learning, Design, and Technology, a Graduate Certificate in the same field, and a Master's degree in English Education, all from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
