Amber Abernethie currently serves as the Public Health Development Manager for North East Lincolnshire Council, a role commenced in September 2019, following previous positions as Public Health Trainee and Health and Wellbeing Graduate. Prior experience includes a role in Policy and Public Affairs with the British Heart Foundation, an internship at the World Health Organization focused on surveillance and prevention of non-communicable diseases, and a Media Relations internship at Science Media Centre. Amber has also worked as an English Language Assistant in Madrid and held various positions in hospitality and customer service. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Health from the University of York, a PhD in Cardiovascular Science from The University of Edinburgh, an MRes in Cardiovascular Biology from The University of Edinburgh, and a Master’s in Chemistry with a focus on Biological and Medicinal Chemistry from the University of York.
