North End Waterfront Health
Joan Vera is a dedicated Community Health Worker at North End Waterfront Health, where support is provided to patients facing social determinants of health, including housing and food insecurity. Previously, as a BOLD Fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Joan managed a $52,500 grant aimed at pediatric health and nutrition programming. Joan participated in a post-graduate fellowship with the Helen Gurley Brown Foundation, focusing on professional development and leadership skills. While at Middlebury College, Joan held multiple leadership roles, including Director of the Relationship and Sexual Respect Committee, and engaged in research and teaching assistance within the Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies department. Educational credentials encompass degrees in Neuroscience, Global Health, and Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies from Middlebury College.
