Lead Planning Engineer, Engineering & Construction at North Oil Company Qatar

Amir Khater has 16 years of work experience in various engineering and construction roles. Amir has been with North Oil Company Qatar since 2017, first as a Senior Planning Engineer and currently as the Lead Planning Engineer. In these roles, their responsibilities include progress monitoring throughout the project lifecycle and participating in Integrated Asset Planning meetings. Prior to that, they worked at Maersk Oil as a Senior Planning Engineer and Planning Engineer from 2012 to 2017. At Maersk Oil, they also participated in project planning and progress monitoring, as well as liaising with construction teams. Prior to that, Amir worked at Kharafi National as a Project Engineer from 2009 to 2012, where they handled scope management and project organization. Amir also worked as a Projects Engineer at DSD Ferrometalco from 2006 to 2008, and as a Steel Melting Engineer at Egyptian Military Industries Sector from 2004 to 2005.

Amir Khater completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Materials Engineering at Cairo University from 2006 to 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Materials & Metallurgical Engineering from Suez Canal University, where they attended from 1998 to 2003.

In addition to their educational background, Amir Khater has also obtained several certifications. The certifications include the International Award in Delivering Training (IADT) from Highfield, which they achieved in January 2023. Amir also completed the Oil Production and Processing Facilities Advanced Level certification from PetroSkills | John M. Campbell in August 2022. Furthermore, they obtained the Expanded Basic Petroleum Economics certification from PetroSkills | John M. Campbell in February 2020.

Amir Khater's additional certifications also include the Best Practices for Managing Small Projects certification from Independent Project Analysis in January 2016. Before that, they completed the Oil & Gas Process Facilities Operations Basics Level certification from PetroSkills | John M. Campbell in December 2013. Finally, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the PMI-OC Project Management Institute Orange County Chapter in April 2010.
