Head, Petrophysical Operations at North Oil Company Qatar

Jyoti Prasad Hazarika has extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry, specializing in petrophysics. Jyoti Prasad currently works at North Oil Company Qatar as the Head of Petrophysical Operations. Prior to this, they held the role of Petrophysicist Team Lead at the same company.

Before joining North Oil Company Qatar, Hazarika worked at BG Group as a Principal Petrophysicist. In this role, they were responsible for providing petrophysical support for exploration, business development, and asset development in various countries including China, Canada, Norway, Senegal, Equatorial Guinea, and Colombia. Jyoti Prasad also played a key role in developing data acquisition plans for high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) wells in China.

Hazarika's previous experience includes working at Shell as a Petrophysicist and Senior Petrophysicist. During their time at Shell, they focused on well and reservoir management in the assets of Swamp & Land Asset teams of Western Division. Jyoti Prasad contributed to the evaluation of clastic reservoirs and provided functional inputs for hydrocarbon resources and reserves accounting.

Jyoti Prasad also worked at BG Group as a Petrophysicist, acting as the functional focal point for the Panna & Mukta fields in Western Offshore, India. In this role, they coordinated data acquisition plans and performed quality control of data. Jyoti Prasad also processed and interpreted high-end technologies for reservoir characterization.

Hazarika's career began at HLS ASIA, a joint venture of Halliburton, where they worked as a Well Log Analyst. Jyoti Prasad provided petrophysical solutions to clients in India and Bangladesh, specializing in clastic and carbonate reservoir characterization. Jyoti Prasad was proficient in processing and interpreting various types of logs, including imaging, crossed-dipole acoustic, pulsed neutron, and NMR logs.

Their early experience also includes working as a Well Log Analyst at Halliburton in various countries such as India, Mexico, Venezuela, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Jyoti Prasad focused on the evaluation and analysis of logs, including crossed-dipole sonic logs, electrical imaging logs, and cased-hole logs for cement bond evaluation and casing corrosion. Jyoti Prasad was skilled in deterministic and probabilistic interpretation of conventional open hole logs for determining hydrocarbon saturation.

Jyoti Prasad Hazarika began their education at Carmel School in Jorhat, where they completed their High School Leaving Certificate from 1981 to 1993. Afterward, they attended Cotton College in Guwahati for their Higher Secondary education and obtained a B.Sc. degree, which spanned from 1993 to 1998. Following this, they pursued an M.Sc.Tech degree in Applied Geology at the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) in Dhanbad from 1998 to 2001.
