Liam McGowan

Liam McGowan has extensive work experience in the field of mechanical engineering and operations. Liam currently serves as the Head of Mechanical Engineering & Operations at North Oil Company Qatar since February 2020. Prior to this, they worked as the Lead Mechanical & Rotating Equipment Engineer at the same company from July 2017 to February 2020.

Before joining North Oil Company Qatar, Liam gained valuable experience at Maersk Oil where they held various roles. Liam served as the Team Lead - Rotating Equipment Engineering TA3 - Asset Engineering from January 2016 to July 2017. Prior to this, they were the Team Lead - Operations Engineering Support from May 2014 to December 2015. Liam also worked as a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer from June 2012 to May 2014 and as a Team Lead - Mechanical Engineering from June 2009 to June 2012. Additionally, they worked as a Rotating Equipment Engineer from October 2008 to June 2009.

Earlier in their career, Liam worked at Mott MacDonald as the Discipline Head & Lead Mechanical Engineer from July 2006 to October 2008, and at Petrofac as a Senior Mechanical Engineer from July 2005 to July 2006.

Liam began their engineering career at Kellogg Brown & Root as a Mechanical Engineer, where they worked from 2001 to 2005.

Overall, Liam McGowan has held various engineering roles with increasing levels of responsibility throughout their career, specializing in mechanical engineering and operations.

Liam McGowan pursued their higher education from 1996 to 2001 at the University of Strathclyde, where they obtained a degree in MEng (Master of Engineering) in Product Design Engineering.
